What does Homeopathy cure?

WHAT DOES HOMEOPATHY CURE?

Homeopathy treats the whole person and not just the symptoms of disease. The

symptoms of disease, -such as a fever, a painful joint, or a tumor-, are not the disease itself, but only the expressions of the disease. The disease is an imbalance of the individual´s energy pattern that expresses itself in symptoms as a compensation. Removing the symptom alone does not resolve the disease, on the contrary, in many cases it drives it deeper into the organism. For example, a congested condition of the digestive system might create headaches or nausea as a symptom. Using medicine to remove the nausea or the headache will not remove the underlying cause, and the symptoms will come back again eventually, or the disease will be driven deeper into the system and produce even more severe disease.

One example of this is the triangle dermatitis-asthma-hyperactivity that all homeopaths who treat children see frequently in their practices. We see cases of very young patients who developed ezcema or dermatitis as babies where the skin condition disappreared after being treated by regular medicine. However, after some time, the child developed asthma. When the asthma was in its turn successfully treated, the child started presenting symptoms of ADD or hyperactivity. The supression of the skin condition had pushed the disease further into the body and was now presenting itself in the lung. After the asthma was later suppressed the disease was driven into the neurological system creating symptoms of hyperactivity and attention disorders.

In a more simple example, we could say that the symptom would be like a car engine experiencing some trouble and turning on the oil red pilot light on the pannel as a means of drawing attention towards the underlying problem. What would we think if we take it to the workshop and the mechanic just pulls out the red ight bulb instead of fixing the oil tank?

Supression is not cure. It is just postponing the problem, with added health risks. Of course, sometimes supression is totally called for. If there is a medical emergency that is threatening to life like a situation of a lethal asthma attack, or even just unbearable pain, we must do anything to save the patient´s life or to alleviate the condition. But always in the consciousness that we are not effecting a cure, only a quick fix, and that the deeper imbalance will need to be addressed afterwards as soon as possible.

The real cure is restoring balance to the whole organism. Homeopathy does that by providing the immune system with the medicine coded information it needs to reorganize the integral health of the individual. And because every individual is unique, every treatment needs to be customized to the individual patient. There are no generic treatments in homeopathy, every patient is a special case.
